Yeast Infection Folk Remedies
Almost every woman at one time or another has experienced a yeast infection. Both men and women can get this type of infection and it can occur in any part of the body. Yeast infections are contagious and can be passed from one person to the next.
Yeast infections can appear any where on the body including between the toes, underarms, along the inner thigh, under the breasts, under fingernails and toenails, but for women it’s commonly a vaginal infection.
Not only can over the counter treatments for yeast infection become costly and messy, they’re also made of synthetic drugs. If you’re looking for a natural way to clear this infection up quick, with less side effects, there are several herbal remedies.
A little tampon can be made by peeling a fresh clove of garlic and wrapping it in cheesecloth and tying it with dental floss. This should be inserted into the vagina and left for several hours or even overnight. For a severe infection, this should be done at both morning and night and continued for at least one day after the infection is gone.
A few drops of tea tree oil can but applied to a tampon and inserted into the vagina, leaving overnight for best results. For best results, coat the tip of the tampon with a lubricant such as olive oil, this will keep the tea tree oil from absorbing into the tampon.
Douches:
Add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one garlic clove to two cups of water and let the mixture set for awhile. Remove the garlic clove and use as a douche to treat yeast infection.
Douching with a mixture of one and a half tablespoons of tree tea oil and one cup of warm water once a day will fight off a yeast infection.
Combine 15-20 drops of grapefruit seed extract with 8 ounces of water and use as a douche. Hold the mixture in as long as you can, this usually will cure the infection in only one use. But, if the infection is more severe just continue using daily.
Douche with one teaspoon of powdered goldenseal added to one pint of distilled water. This usually works almost immediately, but can be used again if needed.
In a blender mix a couple of garlic cloves with water and blend well, this douche may sting a little, but it works very well.
To relieve the itching that comes along with yeast infection, add enough water to a little slippery elm powder to make a paste and apply. A cotton ball soaked with Aloe Vera juice will also help. Just remember these don’t cure the infection, they only relieve the itching until you can get the infection cleared up.
